What is your overarching goal? What drives you? Is your current list of projects supporting that goal? If not, it’s time to do a little triage and drop the things that aren’t fulfilling. Sometimes quitting is good.

Good news everyone! I’ve been awarded HashiCorp Ambassador status again for 2021, which made me reflect on the program and people I’ve met. It also got me thinking about the Microsoft MVP program and how much my career has benefited from being a part of that excellent community.
There are many things I’m looking forward to as we get closer to herd immunity through vaccination. Chief among them are tech conferences/gatherings and concerts. What are you most excited to do this coming autumn?
The future of computing is going to vastly change what we think of as a server. The promise of composable architecture will be ushered in by silicon photonics and specialized processing units. At least, that’s what I think.
I find I am most successful when I am intrinsically motivated to complete a task or project. While external motivations certainly play a part, internal factors will always win out. Recently, I’ve been thinking about how to structure my business to include more projects that satisfy that intrinsic itch.
